When you have found your instructor you should start to practice for your theory test.
The theory test comprises of two parts – The first is the multiple choice questions of which you will have to answer 43 out of 50 questions. During the test the examiner will ask you to perform 2 out of 4 manoeuvres such as parking or reversing around a corner, you may also be asked to perform a hill start or an emergency stop. At the end of the test there is a chance for a debrief this is mainly used if the candidate has failed and needs to understand why and how to improve for the next attempt and your instructor can sit in on this to help later on. If you are successful in passing you will be issued a pass certificate which will act as your driving license until the real one comes through the post which will take approximately 2 – 4 weeks.
